REVIEW: The 3rd Annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival

The 3rd annual Uproar festival rolled into Clarkston, MI last Friday night. The crowd was provided with a full day of give a-ways, band signings and a solid 10 hours of nonstop music.
Detroit’s own, Suburban Syndicate winners of the battle of the bands, opened up the Ernie Ball stage. Their music is very similar to that of the Beastie Boys. While newcomers, Uncrowned from Atlanta, Georgia opened up the Jager stage. Surprisingly these bands opened up to a rather large crowd that had gathered very early on in the day. The bands expressed their gratitude for the early attendees.

There were a couple of Canadian bands on The Uproar tour this time around. Toronto based Thousand Foot Krutch had the crowd in an uproar playing one hit after another. Redlight King hailing from Hamilton, ON also had no problems getting the crowd going. The lead singer Kaz, proudly displayed his Detroit ball cap to show his appreciation for playing in the D.

Mindset Evolutions’ bass player Josh Bodeen was not about to miss out on the Detroit show. Despite having just broken his knee a few days prior, he played his bass from a sitting position in a chair, cast and all.

Fozzy closed out the Jager stage. Front man Chris Jericho was the ring leader in the extremely energetic band that makes up Fozzy.

P.O.D. closed out the Ernie Ball stage to a massive and extremely crowded parking lot full of fans.

Main stage was no disappointed either. Adelitas Way warmed up the crowd followed by Staind. Godsmack owned the stage as they always seem to do. Unfortunately the rain came down after that which had very little effect on the crowd for headliners Shinedown. These guys always put on a great performance.
