Motown Custom Cycles presents rare Open House on Saturday, September 29th from 11AM to 5PM, giving Harley Davidson fans an up close look at this legendary Detroit Motorcycle shop (Detroit's premier Harley Davidson Custom and Performance specialists.

 

The open House is in reality a neighborhood celebration thrown by MCC with food, live entertainment and Motorcycle Show Trophies for best, Sportster, Bagger, Custom and Import bikes. Proving there is another vital neighborhood less than a ½ mile from trendy Corktown and nestled next to Southwest Detroit, this strip has a long and colorful history. It a multi ethnic area that has seen a resurgence of small businesses and the longstanding locations like Motown Custom Cycles

 

The Open House is free- No Admission fee.

 

Motown Custom Cycles has been a fixture on the near West Side Michigan Avenue area for 30 years, and a cultural fixture in the "Kustom Kulture" sense as the custom work here borders on high art, while still geared for performance, Owner Dave "Easy" Arzola has helped to invigorate the Michigan Ave Strip with his iconic performance shop, which celebrates the oasis of businesses just west of I 96.

 

David "Easy" Arzola  is the owner and operator of Motown Custom Cycles located 5671 Michigan Ave (48210). Born in Puerto Rico in 1957 of Luz and Luis Arzola who owned Arzola Electric Sales and Service on Michigan Avenue where he obtained over 30 years of electrical experience.

 

Moving to Detroit as a young child, "Easy" began Customizing motorcycles ( then mini-bikes) at 11, and soon he " began working at Nader's Customs cycles on Michigan Avenue in 1969 and built a relationship that lasted a lifetime. Arzola also built friendships with the renowned custom bike builder Tony Carlini and Gary Milligan as well as made other giants in the industry such as Ron Finch.

 

Arzola has been the  chairman on the board of the MABA Michigan Avenue Business Association, and volunteered many committees throughout the years to try to revive the city and provide a safe and clean environment for people to shop at -and fought for better services for the merchants on Michigan Avenue. Arzola has also volunteered many hours to clean the Rouge River, Devils night patrol, Clean and safe committee, and is one of the members of the revitalization of Historic US12,  just to name a few.

 

Mr Arzola has over 40 years of experience riding and repairing motorcycles. He has well over 50 custom builds as well as numerous restorations and custom jobs.

Motown Custom Cycles is a family owned and operated Harley Davidson specialist shop which offers a full fabricating, customization, chroming, custom paint, powder coating and design, engine repair, transmissions, full machine shop and offers services on everything from an oil change to full restoration.
